The product is called "Dip: Coffee", and as the name says it is coffee to dip!
Dip: Coffee is freshly roasted, ground, and under protective atmosphere packed Gourmet coffee in a little paper bag.
To prepare the coffee simply take a cup with hot water and dip a bag of the "Dip: Coffee" in it for about 3 minutes, and voila, you have a fresh cup of coffee! The best part about it is that its packing is recyclable and biologically degradable.
Sounds simple and it is simple, but a complex technology and many years of development stand behind this kind of coffee preparation and packing. Even though the coffee bag may remind you of a tea bag, remember coffee is not tea, especially concerning the freshness and the extraction behavior.
I think this product has great potential especially in the outdoor and sports markets. You can take it on a camping, hiking or bike trip and enjoy great coffee wherever you are. It may be just as interesting to hotels and offices.

That is a terrific, money-making idea. It has the portability of a tea bag, but for coffee addicts. I'm wondering about the flavor. I'd be interested to know if it tastes like fresh brewed coffee or if it is too strong or watered-down. Definitely post an update on your experience with Dip: Coffee. My mom owns a coffeehouse and is a coffee fiend. I will definitely see if she has heard of this product.

(Which would be me). I love the stuff!!! I am going on a camping trip this fall, and I already wondered about coffee. This idea is so neat! I will be sure to try it out!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea! For how simple it is, it's kind of crazy to think that this idea hasn't come out sooner. I'm not a big coffee drinker but if I'm out and about or even on a camping trip I would definitley try it. If Starbucks were to pick this up, they could make a lot of $$$...as if they need any more.
ReplyDeleteThis is so cool! I had never heard of this before. It is a very smart idea and I agree that it will become a very popular product. I especially like that they used recyclable and biodegradable packaging. This helps for when there is no coffee maker available, so now you could have coffee whenever, where ever. As long as they can sell it for cheap I believe they will make a good deal of money off of this product!

This new product seems to cool and what's funny is I started pondering a similar idea this summer. Thank you for introducing this to me! Likewise to JJ, I wonder how it really tastes... if it's too watered down and not like freshly brewed coffee. I'm sure this will make some money! I'll have to try it myself someday.
